Atlantic Flower Festival a blooming success

Atlantic Village welcomed in spring with a whole host of wonderful creations at its inaugural Flower Festival. The exhibition showcased the talents of the Atlantic Flower Club members, whose imagination and creativity drew many compliments from customers

Competition Entries

Visitors to Atlantic Village were greeted by 24 exhibits in two class titles called ‘A pair of shoes’ and ‘3 kitchen items’ which inspired the arrangers to put into practice skills and techniques they had learned from workshops and the demonstrators who have visited the club at their monthly meetings. Some of the materials used included a washing up bowl, whisk, cheese grater, colander, high heel fashion shoes, ballet shoes and Crocs

Shoe Winner

Customers at Atlantic Village were invited to vote for their favourite arrangement. Jean Smale won the ‘Pair of shoes’ category, which was sponsored by Pavers Shoes

Kitchen Winner

Jill Russell won the ‘3 kitchen items’ which was sponsored by Procook

Floral Crowns

The event included a range of flower related fun with floral crown demonstrations and workshops from Church Park Flowers and The Forgotten Garden

Flower Arrangement Demos

There were multiple flower arranging demonstrations throughout the event, all given by members of Atlantic Flower Club. Customers were offered to donate £2 to local charity Families in Grief to be in with the chance of winning the final arrangement.

Sugarcraft Demonstrations

On Sunday 14th we had live sugarcraft demos from Claire’s Sweet Temptations

Free Face Painting

We had free face and hand painting by Becky of Devon Face Painting

Local Charity

The event raised over £240 for local Bideford charity, Families in Grief. A big thank you to everyone who donated money to this worthy cause!

Competition Winner

Once voting for their favourite arrangement, each voter got put into a prize draw to win a £50 Atlantic Village gift card. The lucky winner chosen was Kathy Diwell from Bideford!
